Here’s the gallery of images from the Woods Party. If you werent there, cops basically followed us around town until we finally went so far away that they didnt care any more…. sorta…
It was Sunday. The town, Monterey.
It was barely awake. i think, besides the large mob we caravaned with and the other bands that showed up, there were three visitors.
None the less, the show went down.
Opening with a humorous hip hop trio, the night wasn’t going to be so lame after all.
The next set was hot.
Due to being such a small venue the owners wanted to shut down at 11 pm…
Too bad Nursery only had 5 minutes to play.
That probably explains the shortage of pictures and footage of them that night.
Despite the brevity of the show, the night was not totally over.
All that matters was that we got home safely.
Yes! The Santa Cruz Underground Music Fest.
Hella local bands played back to back. Everything from electronic and acoustic sets to some hardcore and punk rock shreadage.
Nursery.
Rare Times.
Good People got to rock out first in the Bike Church.
Acid Tapestries.
This is Cool Band Now.
There were tons more bands to see. Too bad my camera died. Besides, I could hardly stand up after a whole day of bouncing between the hot sunny outdoor shows and stuffy-damp-indoor-noise-pits.
///BONUS—> 35 MM Scans///
that link will bring you to the gallery of some 35mm negatives i scanned super-ghetto-style with my iphone and a normal shitty scanner. whadyaknow, it works…
it was hot, it was stuffy, the room was more packed than a fiend’s smokes and everyone was happy. one hell of a show hosted by the residents of storey.
too bad i missed all of the first bands. i did manage to make it on time for a banging set by Poison Diamond front man and his new lady vocalist.
special thank you to ken for taking photos that night so as i didnt have to juggle cameras.
This isn’t a hoax this is alittle ridiculous this is f’real noise this is sloooow trucks, and I don’t mean the kind you see in traffic. They’re gonna make you scream and they sound so clean like a long night or a car crash. Trucks reared themselves into Sub Mission the day after new years and my, what a good way to put the decade into ignition. I also have to add- the chick drummer was sassy. Enjoy.
